A study conducted by the University of Wisconsin and the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) reveals that hardwood floors are possibly the most ecological floor covering choice. Production emits little to no greenhouse gasses and allergens, and uses less energy than any other flooring option. Wood floors have the longest service life and are naturally biodegradable and easily recyclable.
Fuzion Flooring is committed to creating a sustainable business and respecting the environment by harvesting responsibly and minimizing waste. We only harvest wood from forests that are responsibly managed and FSC35 certified. 100% of our wood comes from Europe, North America and Asia, where new growth exceeds wood that is harvested. Our tropical species are exclusively from countries that are members of the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO). All members of the organization have pledged to work towards responsible forestry.
Our innovative manufacturing approach drastically reduces wood waste. Engineered hardwood uses far less lumber than traditional hardwood—one good block of wood can make 10 floorboards instead of merely two. Our state-of-the-art engineered core includes all cuts of wood, even those with stains or knots that solid hardwood manufacturers discard.
We make use of 100 % wood waste residue—either by integrating it into the production of our incredibly stable HDF cores, or using it for fuel to heat our mill.
